Polyethylene terephthalate, or as it’s more colloquially known PET, can look a lot more beautiful than it sounds.
In the hands of Czech sculptor Veronika Richterová even the ugliest of recyclables can be born anew. From Lobsters to Lamps and flora in between, Veronika has been sculpting her marvelous creations since 2004. Her discovery of the malleability and hidden beauty of the humble plastic bottle sparked an obsession that has since lead to exhibitions all over the world and an incredibly informative webpage extolling the virtues and outlining the failings of PET.
Hopefully her work inspires you to recycle responsibly and even more than that… recycle creatively!
