London-based James Barker is an award-winning Illustrator, and upcoming Children’s Author. James studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Norwich University of the Arts and he recently completed an MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins, which has led him to exhibit his work internationally. His illustrations have been featured at the London Design Festival, as well as by the BBC and The Independent. James has a keen interest in illustrating collections of eclectic objects, as well as storytelling. His main inspiration comes from art naïve and outsider art.
James’ work looks at collections of random things he finds interesting as well as exploring the idea of ‘Britishness’. The thing that really struck us while we flicked through his portfolio was the huge range of subject matter covered by his illustrations, and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next. We’re especially captivated by his amazing dino drawings.
We stock a whole bunch of products featuring James’ illustrations, including the Mammoth Cushion and Masks Phone Case.
You can see more of his work on his portfolio site www.jamesillustration.co.uk.
