This zoo of paper sculptures, ranging from flamingos to meerkats shows paperart at its best.Taxidermy style deer heads jut out from the wall, and free-standing ant eaters stand boldly in these beautiful geometric works.

Operating under the name Paperwolf, German-based Wolfram Kampffmeyer makes DIY paper sculpture sets that give his art an extra dimension and let you make your own at home.

A computer animation student, his menagerie ranges from mini mammals to ginormous mythical creatures, and these lovely creations are certainly something to write home about. Available to order, you make the designs yourself using the provided instructions and kit.

Over Halloween, we were super excited about Steve Wintercroft‘s creepy masks and these mesmerising sculptures are cut from the same cloth (or maybe even paper). The 3D model kits are expertly designed, and manage to break down all creatures great and small into their pixelated geometric base shapes. What more could you want from a student side project? Smart, sassy and design-ogasm material for sure.
