What’s not to love about Dutch artist Martine Johanna‘s use of colour? That balance of warm and cold tones works beautifully and even when she’s working with muted sepia tones it pangs of Alphonse Mucha in a gloriously contemporary way. The way she captures texture, light, depth, pattern is incredible, her brush strokes look like they’ve been drawn on with a pencil – in fact originally I thought these were drawings especially the hair on some of them.
