Just for a bit of fun this morning here’s a photo set by Finnish director/animator Lucas Zanotto. Done largely for laughs whenever Lucas was hiking or travelling this photo set, titled ‘Having a Face’, also plays on the idea that as a modern society we feel implored to inject meaning into almost everything we experience.
I’m definitely guilty of participating in this modern quest for meaning and in this case it was easy to get me to err to anthropomorphism once again. Whilst some are more successful than others, in some cases I can almost imagine the little fellas personalities, they’re all pretty great. Alas, let us appreciate them for what they truly are! Fabulously simple, fun, paper plate, googly eyes stuck onto inanimate objects. The one thing this project leaves me wishing is that I had the dedication to carry a mass amount of googlies whenever I’m out and about.
‘Having a Face’ is on Tumblr HERE, and don’t forget to check out Lucas Zanotto’s website HERE if you’re interest in his design, direction or animation work.
