Harriet’s style is similar, yet completely different to some of our contributors.. Several of us use pencil primarily, but that’s the only real similarity, we all wield our sword differently and Harriet’s sensibilities are completely different to say Sandra’s or Luke’s.
Harriet’s style is very feminine and she combines wonderful pastel colours with her line work to produce some gorgeous work š
My most recent published project was a collaboration with ‘the aviary’ who
make lovely little trinkets and treasures. They announced on twitter a
little while ago that they were looking for young illustrators to work with
on a collaborative project, and as I thought their jewellery was gorgeous I
thought I’d put myself forward. The brief was very open, they sent me some
wonderful samples of their jewellery for inspiration, but I was free to draw
which ever pieces I wanted, I created 3 illustrations for them.
Also had a piece of work in the latest issue of ballad of… Petra doe.
Submitted it to them in august so it feels like I’ve been keeping it under
wraps for ages, as it’s only just been released. The latest issue, little
book of horrors, called for spooky imagery so I thought a lady in day of the
dead attire would be fitting.
At the moment I’m working on a commission for smug’s new website, and have
arranged with Kellee Rich to work on a little zine collaboration that we
will begin in the new year, which is quite exciting!
