An Illustration a Day

To fulfill a creative urge, which is seldom filled, I started a drawing-a-day project to keep myself creatively busy during out of work hours.

In my day-to-day job as a graphic designer there is a brief to follow, brand guidelines to adhere to and not always an opportunity to play. With this drawing-a-day project there is definitely no brief and definitely lots of play. It is simply a fun way for me to explore ways of telling a story, reporting on a current event or conveying an idea through illustration.

I only use ink and a brush as I like the unpredictable nature of the two. Often the work is personal so I like having the quality of a human touch. I’m pleased to say that I have been doing it for nearly 50 days and I’m kind-of hooked on it now!
