Amy Hamilton is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Kingston, Ontario. She uses traditional methods like graphite, gouache and ink to create the foundation for her work. After that she translates it all into digital form where it can be edited and pieced together further. Her portraits of animals have an ethereal quality, some seeming almost ghostly. The dripping of ink, the smudging and smearing of paint remind us that the illustration is rooted in traditional methods, but has a crispness that only digital work can have.
