If an ant wanted to spruce up the anthill, then these ‘Paintings for Ants’ would be just the thing for them to hang on their walls.
These teenie tiny drawings are another ‘365 day challenge’ triumph. It’s the minute detail of these illustrations which really gets us excited, and they are often photographed with a coin or pencil in the shot to give you an idea of size.
Initially a project intended to run for just 12 months, Cape Town-based artist Lorraine Loots didn’t stop after the 365 days were up, and has now been penning one a day since January 2013. The project is now in Phase 2 and the images for this second phase are all Cape Town themed as an ode to its status as World Design Capital 2014.
You can read more about the project and see more of the images over on Lorraine‘s website: www.paintingsforants.tumblr.com.
